I was looking for a book that would help me get on the right track for writing a perfect application essay. I am good at writing, but since I was applying to Yale I wanted my paper to be extraordinary. I used this book to help me shape my paper and throw around some ideas on how to write. I'm glad to say that I was accepted!!!! I would recommend this book to anyone looking to write an application essay!
One of the smartest things we did was get this book to read. Our son applied to extremely competitive schools and got in all of them. The essays in this book and information from the author make it easier for any student to understand how to construct an essay for their college application.
These essays are top notch examples of how to write a strong application essay, whether or not your student wants to go to an Ivy League College. My eldest did not as he wanted college merit scholarships and to do more with his spare time than take lots of AP classes, but certainly was helped by reading this, and I have younger teens who will benefit from this book as well. Worth the read.
