WE DID IT - AGAIN!

The 2012 Tee Off For Scholarships was a HUGE success because of the players and sponsors, those listed on the right side of this page.  Because of their participation we will once again be able to provide FIVE $1,000.00 College Scholarships to area high school graduates.

This is the third year for the event and each year builds on the success of the preceding events.  Inspite of a sluggish economy we did better than we expected and hopefully will make some changes in the scholarships for 2013 such as making the monetary value even higher.

If you participated in 2012 hopefully you will again in 2013.  If you did not participate please give it some thought for 2013 and set aside funds in your 2013 budgets to are area students.

We Are Off And Running!

We are looking for players; hopefully that would be you!

We are looking for Sponsors; hopefully that would be you!

Proceeds from this event will provide college scholarships.

Our goal is to provide (at least) one scholarship for each of the Slidell area's five High Schools. The goal is also for these scholarships to be (at least) $1,000; that amount could be determined by you if you decide to participate (or not).

  • Par Level ($150.00 each includes hole sign)

  • Eagle Level ($500.00 each, includes 2 players, hole sign, name on official sponsorship board, extra door prize tickets)
  • Ace Level ($750.00 each, includes 4 players, hole sign, top billing on official sponsorship board, extra door prize tickets)

TOURNEY WAS A SUCCESS!

Unlike 2010, the weather was great! The turnout was great! The event was a success!
The winners of the scholarships will be announced during the first week in June.
The 2012 event has been scheduled for Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Oak Harbor Golf Club. Watch this site for the details of the upcoming event. It is never too late to plan ahead.
As was the case this year, we are looking for community involvement by the local businesses to help us in our endeavor.
Remember, Education is what you get when you read the fine print; Experience is what you get when you don't.
Help us to help local High School Graduates read the fine print by attending college.
Special thank you to everyone who was involved, either as a player, sponsor or worker to insure the event's success.

May 20th, 2011 Second Annual Tournament

KELLER WILLIAMS TO PROVIDE COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS Slidell, LA. Leah Wartelle, Team Leader for Keller Williams Realty Professionals announced that the First Annual “Tee Off for Scholarships” Golf Tournament was a wonderful success. Over $5,000 was raised to provide $1,000 college scholarships to one senior student from the each of the Slidell and Pearl River area high schools. Students were asked to submit applications from which one student from Northshore, the Pearl River, the Pope John Paul II, the Salmen and the Slidell High Schools were selected to receive the $1,000 scholarship to a university of their choosing. The scholarship awards will be presented at an Awards Reception at Keller Williams Realty Professionals on May 22. The event featured a $10,000 hole-in-one prize, a $2,500 putting contest prize as well as a lunch and dinner and a multitude of door prizes. The success of the event was due to a good turnout of golfers and local company sponsorships. Jim Brown and Carole Woodward, co-chairs of the scholarship tournament committee said, “We are planning to hold the 2011 golf tournament again at Oak Harbor Golf Club, who has graciously agreed to host the event on Friday, April 8, 2011.”

Tournament within a tournament. Teams that choose to participate at a cost of $ 20.00 (voluntary) will be given one colored golf ball. The ball will be played through each hole by one player on the team. The ball will be passed to the next player to play on the next hole. If the ball becomes lost, the team is out of the this part of the tournament. The score card will be used to break any ties. This will be a 50/50 tournament with 50% of the net proceeds going to the winning team and 50% to the Breast Cancer Fund.

Mulligans will be sold in the club house prior to the tournament, each team can purchase two
mulligans per person at $5.00 each.
